A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the
Town Hall, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts, at 7:00 P.M.
Case # 07-09
A Public Hearing on the petition of Thomas & Donna Fay who seek a Special Permit under
Section(s) 4.3.2.10.2 of the Zoning By-laws in order to continue the use of a detached carriage
house in the rear of the lot that has been used in the past as a dwelling unit on the property
located at 32 Grove Street in Reading, MA. The Applicant satisfies the requirements of the
bylaw and wants to formalize the status of the carriage house.
The Board heard a presentation from Attorney Chris Coleman who represented the Applicants.
The Historical Commission and the public in attendance made their comments. The Board
requested that the hearing be continued so that they could receive a formal report from the
Historical Commission. They also wanted to meet with the Building Inspector who was not
present at the meeting and to receive a report from him regarding the structural integrity and
condition of the existing plumbing and wiring in the carriage house.
On a motion by John Jarema, seconded by Paul Dustin, the Zoning Board of Appeals moved to
continue the hearing to June 21, 2007.
The motion was approved by a vote of 5-0-0 (Redfern, Jarema, Dustin, Conway, Tedesco)
