Meeting Minutes 3
Monday, August 25, 2003 4 r, MASS.
: N 4:
Attendance: Tom'O'Rourke, MaryEllen O'Neill, Amy Vendt, Donna Griffith, Ken "
Scarborough
Tom started the meeting at 6:50pm
Minutes were approved as written
Tom will bring a new minutes taker schedule to the next meeting.
Amy and Donna shared the tentative Fall 1 pool schedule. They are just waiting to find
out the dates for Swim Meets.
Donna and Amy shared the July and August pool usage statistics. The numbers were
lower than expected. It was discussed that this could be because of the rainy weather we
had this summer. Two popular times were weekends and evenings in the small pool. On
average there were 3-4 families in the pool at any given time.
ACTION: Check with Laurie, was the pool schedule and article pool in the local paper
this summer and does she have copies
Reading Recreation had lower numbers than expected this year. Amy and John Fuedo
met to put together better times for next year.
Summer 2004 Swim Team Letter: a letter was read from Cam Townsend sharing her
concerns regarding the possibility of Swim Team practicing at outside facilities for all of
July. It was felt that at this time it would be better to go with the two days at MIT and the
other three evenings here at Burbank.
Sub-committee Update: The sub-committee had brainstormed suggestions for next
summers pool schedule to make it more consistent and easier to remember. Amy and
Donna are meeting to put together a tentative schedule. They will then meet with the
sub-committee and the schedule will be sent to the entire Board before the next meeting
so they can come with questions etc.
RMHS Boys: MIAA schedule is due very early so Ken will meet with Donna and Amy
soon to set meet times. They will start on 1" Monday in December.
RMHS Girls: Started today 8/25, their numbers are up and we are working on meet dates
now.
Bluefins: tryouts start Sept 8
Banner: no new news
Record Board: would be really nice for moral, however at this time there is no
space/money
