1. Meeting called to order by Chairman and all Committee members introduced thNnsel rs
All others introduced themselves as well.
2. Ms. Davis (Defendant) listened to charges as outlined in the Police Report. Ms. Davis
felt the dog may possibly have been inadvertently let out due to the fact that some Realtors who
looked at her grandmother's house may have let the doors open.
3. Ms. Davis produced numerous pieces of documentation from Veterinarian, dog trainer,
personal friends and family indicating the dog in the report was a good-natured and friendly dog.
Documents to be placed in the Police Department files. Ms. Davis stated she regularly visits a _
dog park and never has an unpleasant encounter with any other animal, including cats, and that `
her dog has never shown a vicious nature to any person or animal.
4. Ms. Davis also stated in a matter of months she would be leaving the state to attend
school and would be taking her dog with her.
5. Ms. Davis also stated she had tried to contact the Manning family, owners of the cat, to
apologize for the incident but has not been able to speak directly with them.
6. The committee asked questions of the Defendant pertaining to scratches that the dog had
after the incident, but there was nothing in writing from the Veterinarian who saw the dog. The
committee and the ACO asked for a description of the type of pen that the dog is kept in at home.
The Defendant supplied a detailed description of the enclosure.
7. The Committee closed the hearing and the case was discussed between the members
only.
8. The Committee made a motion to declare the dog is vicious.
9. The motion was not carried by the Committee.
10. Further findings were if the dog was found running at large in the future the matter would
be brought before Committee for further action.
