Building usage is up in the school this year. About $130,000 is waived for Recreation programs. The school has instituted a rental fee this year in an attempt to cover the cost of operating the building after hours. The rental fee does not cover the wear and tear of the building, nor does it cover for electricity and heat. Right now the Recreation Department only pays for custodial costs. Dr. Harutunian also discuss the High School Sportsmanship program through the Athletic Department. The committee raised a few questions. Did you lose organizations due to the increase in rental fees? Yes, but we gained additional revenue. There is a great demand for the building usage. Dr. Harutunian thanked the committee for allowing him to meet with them. This was past due.
