CALL TO ORDER:Public Meeting
Alan Beaulieu called to order a public meeting about the Reading Over the Hill Team special permit
to use Collins Field on Sunday from 11:00 -1:00 PM
Dave Chase, President of the Reading Team discussed reasons why the team should be granted
permission to use Collins Field. Mr. Chase stated that everything went well this past spring with no
complaints from the neighbors. It would be in the team's best interest to play their games in
Reading 17 of the 20 players are from Reading. They did seek other sites like Austin Preparatory
but that would cost too much.
No abutters were presents to dispute this fact.
Mr. Brunkilacchia stated that they are all Reading United Soccer Coaches and would do anything to
maintain a good relationship with the town and community.
Public Meeting was closed.

OLD BUSINESS
Discussion on Field Scheduling at Memorial Park
The Committee should be mindful when permitting Memorial Park. The are concerns about safety
issues. No place to park, children running into the street, parents letting their children out of the
car and not walking with them, etc.
ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT (See Attached)
Discussion on the Credit Card System as it effects the Clinic Director who is employed by the Town
or School Department.
The credit cards are causing a few problems. If we accept Credit Cards for Clinic Directors who are
employed by the Town or School, the Recreation Division has to cut a check to reimburse them for
the money that was taken in. By law the Town cannot pay an employee as a contractor. They must
be paid out of payroll at their regular salary. There are also conflict of interest questions.
Motion to accept credit cards only for Reading Recreation direct program only. Ie..Camps, Sunday
Basketball etc.

Aquatics Report
The Aquatics Subcommittee is now meeting. The YMCA will be installing a new sound system.
The YMCA does not have the correct machine to properly clean the pool. The YMCA and
Recreation Division will be working closely to discuss the summer season. The High School Swim
schedule is set.
