READING RECREATION COMMITTEE MINUTES
December 12, 2008 Lower Level Conference Room Town Hall
Attendance: Chris Campbell, Rec. Committee Member, Mike DiPietro, Chair, Frank Driscoll, Rec.
Committee Member, Bernie Winne, Vice-Chair, Kate Kaminer, Rec. Committee Member, Mary
ann Kozlowski, Rec. Committee Member, Eric Hughes, Associate Member, John Feudo, Recreation

M. DiPietro called the meeting to order at 7:04 PM.
M. DiPietro asked the Recreation Committee to review the minutes from the October and
November Rec. Committee meetings.
B. Winne made a motion to accept the October 9th minutes as proposed. K. Kaminer seconded the
motion. Motion passed in favor of accepting the minutes 5-0-0.
K. Kaminer made a motion to accept the November 12th minutes as proposed. B. Winne seconded
- the motion. Motion passed in favor of accepting the minutes 5 -0-0.

Noise Issue at_Stadium_Field_F-o11o-w-up - K. Kaminer asked if there was any follow up to the noise issue at the Stadium field. J. Feudo stated
that the new rules for the stadium are now in place and he did not anticipate an
y new issues going
forward. The speakers on the press box have been moved to the opposite side of the stadium. That
should make a big difference in itself.
Administrator's Report
J. Feudo went over the numbers for Fall programming. Sunday Basketball and Travel Basketball
numbers are as strong as they have ever been. Other programs that have seen success included the
Fall Volleyball program on Sunday's and the new theater program.
J. Feudo gave an overview of the Winter/Spring Recreation Magazine. The publication is due out
right after the Holidays.
Our Clerk Barbara Rose has announced her resignation. A search for a new clerk will begin
immediately.
Parker Field is 90% complete. The only items left to finish will be the asphalt apron and the hydro-
seeding around the perimeter.

Sub-Committee reports
Washington Park Committee
The Washington Park Committee will make their final report to the Board of Selectmen on
December 16th. The final report is very well put together with a lot of time and dedication from the
committee.
F. Driscoll made a motion to adjourn the meeting. K. Kaminer seconded the motion. Motion
passes in favor of adjournment 6-0-0.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.
