HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-11-10 Finance Committee Minutes^''~"f C~~^► Board of Selectmen Meeting November 10, 1999 The meeting was convened at 7:30 p.m. in the Senior Center, 49 Pleasant Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Convened at the same time were the Finance Committee and the School Committee. Present for the Board of Selectmen were Chairman Sally Hoyt, Vice Chairman Matthew Nestor, Selectmen Camille Anthony and George Hines. The Board of Selectmen agreed to meet on November 23, 1999 with the only issue on the agenda whether or not a Prop 2 '/2 override would be placed on the ballot in March and if so, what the amount of the override would be. The Selectmen asked for information including a five. year forecast of revenues and expenses, what would be needed in order to meet goals of free cash, what would be needed to maintain the 6.5% of the budget for capital, and what would be needed to implement the Peat Marwick report. Selectman George Hines asked that the School Committee and Finance Committee be invited. On motion by Nestor seconded by Anthony, the Board of Selectmen voted to support the subject matter of Article 14 by a vote of 4-0-0. On motion by Anthony seconded Nestor, the Board voted to adjourn their meeting of November 10, 1999, at 9:30 p.m. by a vote of 4-0-0. Respectfully submitted, all Secretary
