The meeting convened at 7:05 t).m. in the Auditorium at Reading Memorial Hg cool, 6
Oakland Road, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Carol Grimm, Vice Chairman
Richard McDonald, FinCom members Robert LeLacheur, James Francis, Paul Kurker, Charles
Robinson and Neil Cohen. Also present were Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner and School
Committee Chairman Pete. Dahl.
Mr. Dahl presented the Article 16 information - leases at RMHS. It was indicated that REAP
has agreed to sign the lease as proposed. FinCom had previously reviewed this in Executive
Session. On motion . by McDonald seconded by Francis, the Finance Committee voted to
recommend the subject matter of Article 16 by a vote of 6-0-0.
The Town Manager presented the reserve fund transfer for unemployment in the amount of
$3,800. On motion by Francis seconded by McDonald, the Finance Committee voted to approve
the reserve fund transfer by a vote 6-0-0.
The Town Manager reviewed the proposed water and sewer budgets based on rates set by the
Board of Selectmen. The major change was that the Board voted to go to every two month
billing and there is some additional expenses related to it. The Finance Committee wanted to
consider these changes, but agreed to amend the Capital Improvement Program to add the
additional pick up truck. On motion by Francis seconded by Kurker, the Finance Committee
voted to reconsider the subject matter of Article 9 by a vote of 7-0-0.
On motion by McDonald seconded by Kurker, the Committee voted to amend Article 9 - the
FY2001 - FY2610 Capital Improvement Program by adding a pick up truck in the water section
of the program in the amount of $22,000. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0-1 with
Francis abstaining.
On motion by Grimm seconded by Kurker, the Finance Committee voted to adjourn at 7:25 p.m.
on a vote of 7-0-0.
