The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. in the Arnold Berger Room, at the Town Hall, 16
Lowell Street, Reading Massachusetts. Present were Chair Carol Grimm, 4Qe! GhairI 111: n
Richard McDonald, FinCom Members Catherine Martin, Charles Robinson, James
Francis, Robert LeLacheur, Neil Cohen, Mary Grimmer, Andrew Grimes, Town Manager
Peter Hechenbleikner, and Leonard Rucker from the RMLD.
On a motion by Dick McDonald, seconded by Neil Cohen, the Finance Committee voted
to recommend Article 8, Amend Charter re RA4LS, as presented.
The motion was not approved by a vote of 3-5-1.
Peter Hechenbleikner reviewed the FY2001 Budget Amendments on Article 4 for a total
of $468,100.
On a motion by Carol Grimm, seconded by Mary Grimmer, the Finance Committee voted
to recommend Article 4, Amend FY 2001 Budget, for $257,000.
The motion was approved by a vote of 9-0-0.
On a motion by James Francis, seconded by Dick McDonald, the finance Committee
voted to approve Article 5, Amending Fees.
The motion was approved by a vote of 9-0-0.
On a motion by Neil Cohen, seconded by Catherine Martin, the Finance Committee voted
to recommend Article 6, Chapter 90, as presented.
The motion was approved by a vote of 9-0-0.
On a motion by Neil Cohen, seconded by Andrew Grimes, the Finance Committee voted
to recommend Article 11, Street Acceptance - Sunset Rock Lane, as presented.
The motion was approved by a vote of 8-0-1.
On a motion by Mary Grimmer, seconded by Neil Cohen, the Finance Committee voted
to approve the minutes of the September 18, 2000 Financial Forum meeting.
The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0-3.
On a motion by Neil Cohen, seconded by Chuck Robinson, the Finance Committee voted
to approve the KPMG bill for $13,500.
The motion was approved by a vote of 9-0-0.
Liaison Reports
Catherine Martin stated the Open Space Committee is in the process of making a first
draft. Catherine will provide the Finance Committee with a summary.
