The Finance Committee convened at the auditorium at Reading ' emorial High School at 7:00
p.m. Present were Chairman Carol Grimm, Vice Chairman Dick McDonald, James Francis,
Chuck Robinson, and Mary Grimmer. Also present were Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner,
Selectman George Hines, Town Meeting members Jerry MacDonald and Bill Brown.
The Town Manager presented a change to Article 4 - amendments to the FY2001 budget. He
had inadvertently left out the need for a $2500 transfer to cemetery expenses from cemetery sale
of lots fund for repurchase of cemetery lots. The amount was $2500.
Mr. Brown indicated that the Finance Committee could not do this transaction because it wasn't
at least seven days before Town Meeting. The Town Manager noted that this was common
practice and the Finance Committee had done this before.
On motion by Francis seconded by Robinson, the Finance Committee voted to recommend
$2500 to line H15 -cemetery expenses from cemetery sale of lots. The motion was approved by
a vote of 5-0-0.
On motion by Francis seconded by McDonald, the Finance Committee voted to adjourn at 7:15
p.m. by a vote of 5-0-0.
