April 23, 2001 2001 MAY 10 A 101 4.2 The meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oakland Road, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Carol Grimm, Vice Chairman Dick McDonald, FinCom members Catherine Martin, Mary Grimmer, Chuck Robinson, Andrew Grimes, Robert LeLacheur and Neil Cohen. Also present were Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner and Nadine Wandzilak from the Reading Advocate. The Town Manager explained that under Article 7 the FY2001 budget amendments there would be a change in order to take $24,000 from free cash rather than the grant. The grant was not actually received yet and the $24,000 will be restored to free cash when the grant came in. On motion by Grimm seconded by McDonald, the Finance Committee voted to reconsider line D15 General Services salaries by a vote of 8-0-0. On motion by Grimm seconded by McDonald, the Finance Committee voted to recommend line D15 in the FY2002 budget in the amount of $275,723 by a vote of 8-0-0. The Finance Committee considered Article 10 - fees. On motion by McDonald seconded by Grimes the Finance Committee voted to recommend the Selectmen's approved changes to Town Clerk's fees by a vote of 6-1-1. The Finance Committee discussed the Vocational School District budget and even though the budget is about $1300 less than previously recommended they decided to leave the budget as it is and the surplus funds would go into free cash. FinCom Chairman Carol Grimm reviewed the State aid figures. The House budget increases the previous recommendation in the Governor's budget by $30,000, still leaving us over $600,000 short in State aid. On motion by Grimmer seconded by Martin, the Finance Committee voted to adjourn at 7:30 p.m. on a vote of 8-0-0. R s ct 11 ubmitted, Secretary
