Finance Committee Meeting MASS.

The meeting was convened at 7:00 p.m. in the Reading Memorial High School Auditorium, 62
Oakland Road, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Catherine Martin, Vice
Chairman Richard McDonald, members Randy Mason, Chuck Robinson, Jim Francis, and Mary
Grimmer.
The Town Manager presented information that indicated that the use of free cash to balance the
FY2003 budget could be reduced by approximately $30,000.
On motion by Francis seconded by Grimmer, the Finance Committee voted to reconsider the
health insurance line item for which free cash was allocated. The motion was approved by a vote
of 6-0-0.
On motion by McDonald seconded by Mason, the Finance Committee voted to increase the use
of free cash from levels approved in April 2002 against the group health and life insurance line
item by $181,192. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0-0.
On motion by McDonald seconded by Francis, the Finance Committee voted to adjourn at 7:10
p.m. by a vote of 6-0-0.
