At 8 PM opened bids for building for radio equipment— Awarded to Concrete Systems, Inc. of Hudson, N. H. for $2,400. Moved to appoint Lawrence Webster to Special Police Force. Moved to award repair work on Fire Station to Cousins Construction Co., including Alternate A & B. Acknowledged invitation of VFW to attend Senior Citizen Christmas Party on 12/6. Moved to approve request for one day all alcoholic license for Austin Prep for 11/1. Notice from Mass NDC of appointment of Robert Maloney as Relations Director. Notice from Mass. Dept. of Labor & Industries of protest filed by Jim Barry Roofing Co. regarding bid on Police Annex Roof. Letter of thank you from Stoneham Fire Dept. for help on Puritan Furniture Store fire on 10/7/81. Letter from Continental regarding settlement of agreement on Bear Hill site. Set date of auction of Union & John Street land for 11/8/80 at 11 AM. Executive Session at 10:15 to discuss negotiations on Bear Hill land.
