HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-09-02 Board of Selectmen Minutes i Board of Selectmen - Minutes Record 9/2/80 I Mr. Agnew announced award of $4,650 and $500 from the Dept. of Elder Affairs on two recently submitted grants. Also announced that another grant submitted thru CETA for help for the C.O.A. was awarded to Reading. Board set date of 10/18/80 to hold auction for the Prospect Steet school. The Board acknowledged a letter from Dr. Wells, School Dept., indicating they do not have sufficient funds to do energy studies on the Pearl St. and Highland St. Schools as the Selectmen had requested. Moved to retain services of Robert Vranka as specialist on the Woburn Odor issue. It was suggested they request a proposal from Mr. Vranka by hourly rate and Mr. Price withdrew his motion regarding retaining Mr. Vranka until that time. Moved to take discussion regarding sargeants exam off the table. Mr. Rosenthal withdrew motion to have the exam in December. He moved to have the exam held in June of 1981. The motion passed unanimously. Moved to authorize purchase of fan to be installed a�-police annex from original bid submitted by Mr. Darby. Mrs. O'Brien made statement regarding other Board members actions rega9ding poll taken at police department.
