This action consisted of approving the following motion by Carl Amon: The Law Committee authorized the expenditure of $5,000 to Forum Insurance to represent the Town in said legal actions with the proviso that Town Counsel be allowed to file his appearance for the Town and participate in all matters relating to the said legal action, including settlement of the suit. The five thousand dollars was the deductible portion of the Town's Public Liability Insurance held by Forum Insurance Company. As the insurance policy and expenditure of insurance money is under the authority of the Board of Selectmen, the Chairman of the Board, John Russell, instructed the Executive Secretary to poll the members of the Board of Selectmen to see if they would approve expending this money from the Insurance Deductible, set aside in the Insurance Budget. All members of the Board of Selectmen voted to approve the action. 7/5/83
