Members Present: John Russell, Paul Landers, Paul Dustin, Marvin Rosenthal
The Board voted to go into Executive Session, to come out in open session, to
discuss the Engineer's contract negotiations. Gail Wood from the D.P.W. met with
them.
The Board met with members of the Clerical Union and signed the contract.
The Board met with representatives from Motorola, the D.P.W. , the Police Dept.
and the Cable T.V. Committee to discuss the Motorola proposal to errect an
antennae on one of the Town's water towers. Also present was a representative
of Tac 2 and Mr. Cohen, representing Summit Towers. After some discussion the
Bear Hill site was ruled out. After further discussion it was decided that Motorola
would supply more detailed information on the actual method of mounting an antennae
at the Auburn site. It was also requested that Tac 2 receive a copy of the Motorola
specifications and make comment at a later date on them, especially if the proposed
antennae would interfere with the Police radio system.
The Board signed a proclamation proclaiming May as Older Americans Month.
The Board approved a one day All Alcoholic Beverage License for Edward C.
Smith for Johnnie Welcome Home Fund Benefit on April 29th at St. Anthanasius Hall.
The Board voted to renew 3 Taxi Cab Licenses for Sprague Taxi;
The Board voted to renew auctioneer's Licenses for Henry J. Gray, 22 Nelson
Avenue, William Willson, Jr. , 55 Bancroft Avenue and Paul Doucette, 39-41 Linden St.
The Board voted to renew a gunsmith license for Perry S. Griffin, 6 Harriman St.
The Board voted to renew licenses to sell guns, sell ammunition, and to perform
as a gunsmith for Shooter's Den, Div. of Mr. Rustproof, Inc. , 15 High St.
The Board voted to approve awarding the Police Liability Insurance to National
Casualty Insurance Co. , overriding their previous vote of April 119th giving it to
Great Southwestern.
