HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-04-11 Board of Selectmen Minutes MEETING NOTES April 11, 1983 Members Present: John Russell, Paul Dustin, Maureen O'Brien, Marvin Rosenthal. The Board signed a proclamation for the Eastern Middlesex Board of Realtors proclaiming Private Property Week April 10-16th. The Board interviewed Frank Sparaco, applicant for an Auctioneer's License. After the interview the Board approved the application. The Board then discussed the Blue Cross Blue Shield contract which had expired on March 1, 1983. It had never been signed and the Board questioned if they could sign it at such a late date. Mr. Russell asked the Executive Secretary to refer the matter to Town Counsel. The Board asked the Executive Secretary to get a copy of the Economic Development Block Grant the D.P.W. had received to re-do the downtown area especially around the Depot. The Board requested the Executive Secretary to schedule a meeting on April 29th with the Police Dept. , D.P.W. , Cable T.V. Committee and Motorola to discuss the Motorola proposal. The Board approved a one day All Alcoholic Beverage License for Friends and Alumni of Austin Prep at Austin Prep for May 7th and May'.15th. At the request of Chief Marchand the Board voted to call for a Patrolman's List from the Mass. Division of Personnel Administration. The Board read a letter from the Planning Board which asked the Selectmen to support the Planning Board's articles regarding accessory apartments. The Board agreed they were in favor of the articles and Mrs. O'Brien stated she would speak for the Board in favor of the articles. The Board acknowledged a letter from Blue Cross Blue Shield which invited them to attend a meeting on April 19th. Mr. Rosenthal and Mrs. O'Brien stated they would attend.
