Members Present: All Members Present
The Board met by swearing in three new fire fighters: Philip Boisvert,
Matt McSheey, Paul Jackson. The Board then met with the Fire Chief to review
his revised budget. The review took the rest of the evening, and during
the review the following motions were made an acted upon as indicated.
Mr. Price moved that the salary portion of the Fire Dept. budget be
$1,270,485. It was so voted 5 - 0.
Mr. Price moved that the expense portion of the Fire budget be $33,564.
It was so voted.
Mr. Price moved thatthe ambulance rates be raised to $100 and $5 per
mile. It was so voted.
Mr. Price moved that the fee for oxygen in the ambulance be raised to
$12 per trip. It was so voted.
Mr. Price moved the change the fire permit fees from $5 to $10. It
was defeated 5 - 0.
Mr. Price moved to replace the 1972 Chevy for a new car for the Fire
Dept. in the amount of $9000. It was defeated 4 - 1. Mr. Russell was the
minority vote.
Mr. Price moved the sum of $30,000 for refurbishing of Fire Engine #1.
It was so voted 5 - 0.
Mr. Price moved the sum of $1000 for protective clothing for the Fire
Auxiliary. It was so voted 5 - 0.
Mr. Price moved the sum of $8480 for salary for the Fire Alarm salary
budget, and $3588 for the Fire Alarm expense budget. It was so voted.
At the request of Mrs. O'Brien the Board requested that they meet with
the Council on Aging on January 17th to discuss a gift the Council is to
receive.
The Board also requested the Executive Secretary to arrange a meeting
with the Personnel Board as soon as possible to discuss the position of a
full time clerk for the Fire Dept.
