HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-07-18 Board of Selectmen Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting July 18, 2000 The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Matthew Nestor, Vice Chairman George Hines, Secretary Camille Anthony, Selectmen Matthew Cummings and Sally Hoyt, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Assistant Town Manager Russell Dean, Mark Dickinson. On motion by Anthony seconded by Cummings, the Board of Selectmen voted to go into Executive Session to consider strategy with respect to negotiation of sale of real estate — Reading Business Park—to come back into Open Session at approximately 8:30 p.m. On a roll call vote, all five members voted in the affirmative. The Board of Selectmen returned to Open Session at 8:56 p.m. Discussion/Action Items Approval of Purchase and Sales Agreement with Dickinson — On motion by Anthony seconded by Cummings, the Board of Selectmen voted to approve the execution of the Purchase and Sales Agreement and all related documents between the Town of Reading and Dickinson Development for the sale of the Reading Business Park also known as the -- former Reading landfill. The motion was approved by a vote of 5-0-0. Mark Dickinson presented a check in the amount of$50,000 for the deposit. The Board members signed all the agreements and documentation. Selectman George Hines suggested that we fill in CPDC and the Conservation Commission an appropriate time about the details of the agreement. On motion by Anthony seconded by Cummings, the Board of Selectmen voted to adjourn their meeting of July 18, 2000 at 9:15 p.m. by a vote of 5-0-0. Respectfully submitted, -
