HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-05-09 Board of Selectmen Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting May 9,2000 The meeting' 'convened at 8:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Vice Chairman Matthew Nestor, Secretary George Hines, Selectmen Camille Anthony (arrived at 8:10 p.m.) and Matthew Cummings, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner and Assistant Town Manager Russell Dean. Discussion/Action Items Motion to Request DHCD Approval of Termination of 121A Agreement—Cedar Glen On motion by Cummings seconded by Hines, the Board of Selectmen voted that the Town of Reading shall seek termination with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Department of Housing and Community Development of the MGL c. 121A, Section 18C contract to pay excise in lieu of property taxation with Cedar Glen Housing Associates, effective at the close of business on December 31, 1999. The motion was approved by a vote of 3-0-0. The Town Manager asked if the Board intended to have a meeting of the full membership of the School Committee, Board of Selectmen and Substance Abuse Prevention Advisory Council, or whether a subcommittee would be adequate. The Board felt that the full meeting was necessary. On motion by Cummings seconded by Hines, the Board of Selectmen voted to go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussion of strategy regarding the sale of real estate and approval of minutes not to come back into Open Session. On a roll call vote, all four members voted in the affirmative and the Board adjourned the Open Session. Respectfully submitted, i "Al to Secretary w" A
