HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-10-23 Board of Selectmen Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting October 23, 2001 The meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. in the RCTV Studio, 224 Ash Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman George Hines, Vice Chairman Camille Anthony, Secretary Matthew Cummings, Selectmen Richard Schubert and Gail Wood, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Conservation Commission Chairman Will Finch, Conservation Commission applicants Larry Goulet and Thomas Loughlin, Nadine Wandzilak from the Reading Advocate and Paul Feeley from the Reading Chronicle. Personnel and Appointments Conservation Commission — The Board of Selectmen interviewed Mr. Goulet and Mr. Loughlin. On motion by Cummings seconded by Schubert, the Board placed the following names into nomination for one position on the Conservation Commission with a term expiring June 30, 2003: Larry Goulet and Thomas Loughlin. Mr. Goulet received four votes, Mr. Loughlin received one vote, and Mr. Goulet was appointed. The Board noted that there was another vacancy that they could act on November 5th and they would be delighted to consider Mr. Loughlin for that position. Proclamations/Certificates of Appreciation Certificate of Appreciation for Marjorie Erwin - On motion by Cummings seconded by Schubert, the Board of Selectmen voted to approve a Certificate of Appreciation for Marjorie Erwin for her 17 years of service as a Meals on Wheels Driver for the Town of Reading by a vote of 5-0-0. On motion by Cummings seconded by Wood, the Board of Selectmen voted to adjourn their meeting of October 23, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. by a vote of 5-0-0. Respectfully submitted, Secretary
