Please accept my apology for not appearing in person. I sincerely submit my nE me for: reappointment to the Cemetery Board of Trustees. During the past six years I have been hianored to serve among such dedicated volunteers and Bob Keating, a gr admunstrator. I believe our cemetories,to be a reflection of the pride the To of Reading holds for the people. All four cemeteries though unique, in terms of ghat they offer are always be,auti places to visit. The town's commitment to our v ps on Memorial Day with the pl cing of a flower on each grave, has always been dear to me. Unfortunately, a scheduling conflict precludes me from attending in person; however, I did want to express in writing why I seek reappoint to the Cemetery Board. In the 33 years my wife and I have lived in Reading, I have tried to participate in town government in some way, as a Town Meeting Member, member of the IDC (now the CPDC), helping out with various volunteer efforts that benefit the town, and most recently, my appointment six years ago to the Cemetery Board. I have enjoyed not justthe camaraderie of my fellow Board members, but also learning about, and being part of, an element of town government about which I knew little. I have come to know that it is an important part of the operation and history of the town. I feel my contributions to the various deliberations of the Board over the past few years have helped the Board make better financial and operational decisions. I would like to continue to serve on the Board. (Besides, I finally feel I understand the budget/accounting process of the Cemetery Department!) I thank you for your consideration and support.
