Executive Session
February 10,2004
The Executive Session convened at 10:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Conference Room, 16 Lowell
Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman George Hines, Vice Chairman
Richard Schubert, Secretary Gail Wood, Selectmen Camille Anthony and Matthew
Cummings, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner and Paula Schena.
The Town Manager noted that originally we were told by a representative from the Region 3
OEMS that extensive training.was needed for retraining on the defibrillators. We are now told
that it takes little training and can be done at roll call. He also noted that there are defibrillators
in the supervisor's cars and at the Police Station, and suggests waiting until we get through the
Labor Relations Commission issue before taking any action.
The Town Manager noted that the Selectmen need to approve a Worker's.Comp settlement for a
School Department employee.
A motion by Cummings seconded by Wood to approve the Worker's Comp settlement in
the amount of$25,000 for Robert Toussaint was approved on a roll can vote with all five
members voting in the affirmative.
Approval of Minutes
A motion by Wood seconded by Schubert to approve the Executive Session minutes of
January 27, 2004 was approved on a roll call vote with all five members voting in the
affirmative.
A motion by Cummings seconded by Wood to adjourn the Executive Session of February
10, 2004 at 10:15 p.m. was approved on a roll call vote with all five members voting in the
affirmative.
