Financial support to the RMHS varsity tennis teams... uniforms, practice balls, ball machine, scorecards, future equipment needs. ❖ Financial support of Reading Recreation tennis programming. ❖ Formed Friends of Reading Tennis Task Force (FRTTF) 2006. k ~~"~i-.• `i.i5 di ng Community Tennis Courts At the Birch Meadow ecreco mial Current Offerings Reading Recreation Tennis Programs ✓ Kids clinics, lesson, ladder play, round robins, travel teams. ✓ Adult clinics, lessons, ladder play, round robins. Reading Tennis Open ✓ Provides competitive tournament play to more than 250 metropolitan area tennis players. Program Expansion Challenger Tennis: offered to all children with special needs. RMHS tennis players will serve as "buddies." Wheelchair Tennis: offered to physically handicapped players. Will be one of few facilities in New England to offer this USIA sanctioned program. Eastern Middlesex Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC): weekly clinics offered to all members of ARC. USTA Tournaments: if awarded USTA grant, may host sanctioned USTA tournaments at this facility. Build 6 new courts, including: new playing surfaces, The Project lights, fencing, drainage system.
