Attachments: 93-95 interchange.bmp
I see that the Selectmen are meeting at 245 Walnut Road to inspect the 93/95 interchange at 8 am on Saturday,
and then will inspect the log cabin at 1481 Main at 10 am. I am attaching a map of the 93/95 interchange that
shows streams and wetlands within the interchange.
The primary stream drains a significant portion of southwestern Reading through Sturges Park and then flows
southwesterly through the interchange into Woburn. I am not sure where it goes in Woburn, but it must end up in
the Aberjona or Mystic River at some point.
There is another stream channel behind the houses on Border Road. This stream receives flow from the
wetlands by Archstone and elsewhere near the West Street/1-93 intersection. It appears likely that there is a
culvert under 1-95 that conveys the stream into the marsh in Woburn.
There may be other open channels within the intersection that do not appear on the map.
The intersection improvements are likely to require a Notice of Intent. MHD and their consultants have called
from time to time seeking information. However, they have not yet flagged the wetland boundaries and brought
them to the Cons Com for confirmation.
