The April meeting minutes were approved 4-0 Mark Wetzel has volunteered to do some clean up of some Town conservation land. John will be in touch with him about some possible projects. Chuck brought up the brush piles at Sturgis Park. The DPW will no longer pick up this brush pile. Instead, they have offered to drop off a dumpster, and we can FlII it and they will take it away. Chuck talked about some of the possible projects for the Next Step volunteers Including Pinevale, Sturgis, and Bare Meadow. When will Bare Meadow be mowed? The Sturgis Park culvert plan needs to be reviewed. Plastic culvert pipe cant be used, so we will need to use precast, reinforced concrete pipes. We will need ramps on each side of the bridge and substantial handrails. We are allowed to put a bridge across the Sturgis river at the point where the weir is. Page 1 1 Chuck was gifted a vehicle (large SUV) that CONSCOM and the Trails Committee can use for work on Town conservation land. John brought up the rouge trail out to Dividence island. Should we make it a formal, blazed trail? A motion was made that our position was not to make this a formal trail and to remove the trail designation from the Town trails map. It was approved 3-0. Dave has led three bird walks in the Town Forest that have been well attended. These are co -sponsored by the Town Forest Committee and the Trails Committee. The Eagle scout project at Alligator Ally will move forward as originally planned. Budget update. We have $829.07 left to spend by June 30. We will need to submit a request for funds that are tied to specific needs. John and Will will work on putting a budget together. Friends & Family Day is June 20. Do we want to attend? We will need to submit a request for a table and tent. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, Fune 3. The meeting was adjourned at 8:07 Page 12
