Meeting called to order at 6:34
March meeting minutes approved as amended
John thanked everyone for their efforts in clearing out the downed trees caused by winter
storms. Brandy coordinated the work party(s).
Trails Committee files and correspondence update.. Now available through Google drive.
Pinevale site visit outcome. Will updated the committee on his site visit.
Chainsaw safety update. John dropped off the electric chain saws for sharpening at Reading
Lumber. They do not offer chain saw training.
Do we have a survey plan for the Weggel project? Chuck says yes and he will send it out to
us. With this we can look at our options for a trail, a bridge, and other aspects of the
project. Chuck has asked the DPW to auger out four holes that would hold posts for a
bridge. Chuck also discussed a possible extension of the culvert pipe. This would allow us
to cross to the playing field side on Town property.
A motion was made to pay the surveyor's bill out of the existing Trails Committee budget.
Approved 5-0

3) Future Projects
Alligator alley bridge reinforcements - Zalen Puff Eagle project plan submitted to
John K; In review. John distributed copies of Zalen Puffs Eagle project plan for the SE part
of the "Alligator Ally" boardwalk. We made a couple of recommendations for him to follow.
Symonds Way alternative awaiting work on parking extent and limits.
Pinevale trails and bridge construction - Next Step schedule update. Chuck said they
should be good to go if we have all the supplies and a plan (sketches) ready to go. Building
the boardwalk is the priority. Will and Brandy will do some Flagging and develop a materials
list.
Chuck talked about the grant he has written for an ADA trail behind REGAL.
Budget Update and stock/equipment purchases - priorities for new tools and other
needs for this fiscal year that ends 6/1/26. Are we eligible for the grant the Town has to
purchase an ATV?
Public outreach and conference opportunities - Arbor Day - Saturday 4/25/26. Tree
planting 9-3 at the Town Forest. Meet at the compost center to park.
Will voiced some concern about the rip rap that RMLD put down for access for repairs.
Should this area have some No Dumping signs put up? Because of the murky ownership,
maybe this area should just be left alone.
The next meeting is 5/6/26
The meeting was adjourned at 7:54
