Interview Incumbents d New Applicants for Volunteer Boards and Committees:
John Federico is a new applicant for the Recreation Committee. He shares that his interest in this committee
stems from his background in sports and wanting to be more involved in Town government. His hope is to
assist in furthering the Town wherever he is able.
Greg SeNite/lf is a new applicant for the ad hoc Commemoration Establishment Committee. He shared that he
is a longtime resident and sees a lot of value in Reading. Whether appointed or not, he expressed that what he
wants to see from this committee is getting a mix of people to grow Reading through an annual educational
program focusing on diversity and inclusion. He feels that ACE is an excellent opportunity to give back to the
community. He also stated that his professional background in customer loyalty would be a helpful skill set to
bring to this committee, and he is looking to become involved in the Town government again after his previous
experience as a Town Meeting Member.
Tim Michel is a new applicant for the Conservation Commission. Chair of the Conservation Commission, Brian
Bowe, joined Tim's interview. Tim expressed that he feels that his professional experience as well as being a
landowner of Conservation land in Reading allows him to bring knowledge of regulations and processes to this
committee. He mentioned that the time commitment of meetings would nomlaly work him outside of having to
miss a couple meetings due to a conflicting sports schedule for his son. Because of this, he would prefer to fill
the vacant associate member seat and eventually move up to full at a later date. He shared that he wishes to
learn more and be a bigger part of the conservation process moving forward.
Monique Gnanaratnam is a new applicant for the ad hoc Commemoration Establishment Committee. She
shared that she really enjoys participating in Town and she is currently a member of the Board of Library
Trustees. Her interest in ACE stems from resonating with the idea of having an opportunity to intentionally
discuss what an annual celebration or commemoration would look like and what it means to the Town. If
appointed, her hope is that she and the rest of the group can create something prosperous and she is more
than willing to put forth with her time and efforts into this committee because she believes strongly in giving
back.
