V ice-Cha'i man Dick Curtis called meeting to order 11:30 a.m.
Mr. Waters presented his findings to date (separate report) to the Trustees.
Vicki Yablonsky reported that the timeline for proposals for an Owner's Project Manager is later
than planned (August 17" for receipt of proposals). Vicki explained that the Owner's Project
Manager has to be hired before an architect can be selected. The deadline for selecting an
architect is October 4". These riles and deadlines are part of the Massachusetts Board of
Library Commissioners requirements for the application for a state construction grant.
Due to the scale, scope, and importance of the grant, and the amount of preparation and review
required for the accelerated timeline for architect selection, the Trustees discussed having a
librarian experienced with building planning and library construction on hand to assist. Motion
was made for a librarian with experience in the library building process to work on an hourly
basis, as needed, to help guide the library through the building planning process until a
construction grant application is prepared. (Yablonsky/Dubois). Vote 4-0 affirmative.
