Why do we have responsibility for the Town Forest kiosk? Should we share responsibility with the Town Forest Committee? The keys for all kiosks are in the Mattera garage. A hunting map will be created and placed in the four Bare Meadow kiosks. Update on Pinevale. Probably no work to be done here until the Spring. Update on chainsaw safety - John's communications with contractor serving the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA). They may be able to set up a training for us. John will follow up with him. John K will set up meeting with new Troop 702 Scout leader. Boardwalk needed on red trail in Kurchian; discuss other ideas for Eagle Scout projects this Fall. Sturgis Park cleanup was scheduled for 9/20. We will need to reschedule. Logistics for ATV rental discussed. Possibly renting a small truck from Home Depot Page 1 1 Diane Weggel bridge project. Status of survey (budget previously authorized by Trails Committee). The survey is complete but the topo part of it is still being worked on. The surveyor needs to have us clear out some brush at the end of the trail up to the culvert. Future Proiects a) Alligator alley bridge reinforcements - should this still be a priority? Trail users seem to be managing with it "as is." Repair/reinforcement work may be a project for Troop 702. b) 443 Haverhill Street - trail clearing/cutting - schedule for Fall? We need to get Mr. Gosh to sign the easement agreement. Also, we will explore developing a trail in Cedar Swamp out behind the ball field at the end of Symonds Rd. We will need to get approval from the Recreation Dept. and/or the Town for approval to move forward with this. Garrett will put together a proposed trail map. John will put together a narrative to use to present to the appropriate boards. c) Timberneck Trail. Possible trail into Timberneck Swamp across from the Charles Lawn cemetery. We will need to walk this to see what is needed to make this a viable trail. d) Interfacing with AVIS (Andover) (John K - still pending). Ben distributed a packet of info about AVIS with the Committee. He will make contact with them. 4) Budget Update and stock purchases. We haven't spent any of our budgeted money yet. Some stock needs to be put away. 5) Next meeting - Wed., Oct. 1. We want to get back on the first Wednesday of the month schedule for our meetings. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10. Approved 4-0 Dave Williams Page 1 2
