Request for Waiver — Memorial Regulations
• Ginny asking the Board to vote on Civil War Veteran maker at Laurel Hill
• Veteran's name is not on the current marker (Cheney)
• Veteran does qualify for a marker but because there is a marker already on the lot,
the Board needs to approve
• Because there is plenty of space on the large lot, there is space for a second
marker
• Ginny has already talked to Will Valliere and he will apply for the marker but
needs to have Board approval first.
• The VA will still issue a Civil War marker —Granite
• A motion would have to be made to waive the current Rules and Regulations to
allow a second upright marker on the lot
On a motion made by Ginny to allow a second marker on grave #273 for Christian Rahr (marker
to be placed on his grave space) Seconded by Ron Stonz and approved by a vote of 4-0
Wood End Expansion Update
• Measured out an made some adjustments with the layout
• With the cold and weather, things have paused until the ground is thawed
General Business
Wood End — Still have a lot of people parking out back and walking their dogs
• Signs put in by Conservation are misleading and people are using the cemetery as
an entrance to paths
• Cars are parking on the grass and bringing their dogs in to use the paths
• Signs are on cemetery land and should be moved
• The Cemetery Board has agreed that the signs and kiosk that are placed on
cemetery property should be moved
• The Cemetery Board has made a motion that the signs and kiosk that are placed
on cemetery property need to be moved. Seconded by Ron and voted in favor by
a vote of 4-0
