Chair Chris Haley called the meeting to order at 6:47 pm.
seeks to release a drainage easement on the parcel on Annette Lane. Town Counsel researched the case law
and indicated that the Select Board needs to declare the easement as surplus before Town Meeting votes on it.
This evening, the Select Board can either just vote to declare it surplus, or vote to declare it surplus and give
the Town Manager the authority to follow up with the disposition of the easement. The Select Board will need to
vote to delegate the actions to the Town Manager eventually, but can do so at a later date. Mr. Kraunelis noted
that while the Conservation Commission did not need to vote on the easement, they were in favor, as the
proposed structure on the parcel will be further away from the wetlands with the easement removed.
Karen Gately Herdck expressed her preference to have the opinion of the Conservation Commission in writing,
and just vote to declare the easement surplus at this time.
Karen Rose -Gillis moved that the Select Board vote to declare the easement located on Parcel 38.0-000-
0139.0 as surplus. The motion was seconded by Melissa Murphy and approved unanimously by a vote
of 5-0.
Karen Gately Herrick moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:53 pm. The motion was seconded by Melissa
Murphy and approved unanimously by a vote of 5-0.
