Topics of Discussion:
Meeting was called to order by Principal Callanan at 4:15 PM.
1. Review of minutes from 10/2/2024 meeting
a. Minutes approved with the following changes-
i. Page 2, 4a, 7 students (not 15) in the NAMC pre -apprenticeship
program
ii. Page 3, 6 - last bullet - 176 students enrolled (not 175), an increase
of 73 students (not 72)
iii. Page 3, V bullet - sub bullet - Modify to read, "Kids who do not pass
an MCAS test in Gr. 9 or 10 are provided target MCAS support to
demonstrate proficiency."
iv. Page 3, remove "SIDE NOTE - we have 175 kids enrolled but we have
better progress towards targets."
2. School Improvement Plan - Principal Callanan presented the school improvement
plan presentation. The plan contains the following key goals
a. Supportive, Equitable and Safe Learning Environments
i. Climate survey
1. Children's Cabinet will conduct this survey and have dialogue
with a variety of school clubs at RMHS to gather feedback
ii. Survey to 9th graders
1. Goal of 75% student participation in at least one school activity
iii. Create, refine and align safety centered process and protocols
iv. Improve daily attendance to 97% or better
b. Coherent Instructional Systems
i. Ensure variety of college and career pathways for secondary students
1. Assistant Principal Kadi Buckley let the group know about the
curriculum currently in place with students who are a part of
ICP. The curriculum includes 10 sessions to teach

employability/durable skills. These sessions happen in Flex
block with Assistant Principal Kadi Buckley and Mr. Ulysses,
METCO Director, teaching these sessions
2. Assistant Principal Kadl Buckley let the group know about
changes to the internship program going forward
a. Before internship starts, conduct an internship bootcamp
b. Feedback sessions will be conducted with each intern at
the start of the internship to identify 5 durable skills
they want to work on
c. At the end of each internship, students will make a (tri-
fold-style) presentation as part of a school event so
other students can learn about their experience
c. Design high -quality system of professional learning for RMHS
d. ELA & Math MCAS: improve the average scaled score of the following
subgroups to 500 or better: SWDs, lowest performing, low income and high
needs
e. Increased participation in advanced coursework by 10% in each of the
following subgroups: high needs, low income, SWD
3. Handbook Updates - Principal Callanan requested the group to review the handbook
in preparation for the next meeting with a particular focus on -
a. Areas for possible redundancy
b. Areas where it may be more appropriate to link out to state or district policies
since the handbook's focus should be on specific high school policies.
The school council meeting adjourned at 5:05 pm.
