Topics of Discussion:
Meeting called to order at 6:36pm.
John reviewed his attendance at the 2024 MA Trails Conference. A highlight for John was
attending a trail building workshop focusing on the use of rocks in trail building
He talked about the use of QR codes in communicating about our trails.
There were presentations about bike trails and rail trails.
There was discussion about DIJA and getting the underserved out into the greenspaces.
Construction debris removal
Trail building construction debris removal. How do we handle this? Make a request to the
DPW? Can we get it to a pickup pick point for them? Or, can we get it to them? Separate
out materials. No creosote.
Completing the Kylie Drive trail. What's next? Blazing?
Should we have a more formal notification to abutters prior to our trail work?
Beaver deceiver - Maillet-Somes-Morgan trail. Will, Garret, Joe, and Chuck built this.
Chuck and the DPW built a swale at the end of Hunt Street. This will serve as an entrance
to the trail and as drainage control/runoff. This was built from the concrete tiles left over
from the Maillet-Soames-Morgan project.

Could we do something in the Linnea Thelin property off Hancock Street?
A motion was made and seconded to approve the October minutes. Approved 3-0
Chuck has not heard back from the 443 Haverhill St. abutter regarding access via the
easement. We will have a party visiting there on Dec. 14 for the Christmas Bird Count.
Washington St. park trail needs to be opened up as a trail. This would connect with Warren
Ave. We would need wood chips for this.
John will work on creating a more formal checklist for trail projects.
We have $4,406.28 in our budget, gift account $624, and ARPA funds of $38.99.
Conservation report by Chuck. More Birch Meadow pollinator project work to come.
Bare Meadow Tree Thinning project. Trees need to come out from around the perimeter of
the stone wall through the center of Bare Meadow. This will help to bring the meadow back
to what it was historically. This is budgeted.
Town Land Use Summit date/time/topics TBD.
A discussion of a possible gift to the Committee was had.
The next meeting is December 4, 6:30pm at the Mattera Cabin
The meeting was adjourned at 8:13
