Meeting called to order at 7:02 PM
Approval of minutes from April 2024
Minutes approved unanimously as written by Christine
Treasurer Report
Summary of financial statements:
Grant funds: $3,557.84, accrued interest @91K - total of 033K
Brian has not yet seen the state's $25K come through yet.
Reading account is empty—we used that up and funds don't roll over YOY
Reimbursement requests: 9 out of 30 for FY'24
Brian shared a printout of the spreadsheet he uses to track reimbursements. Will share it
digitally with Steve.
Motion to approve raised and seconded. Unanimously approved.
Survey request from Chris Nelson
Chris Nelson is from Ashfield. He would like the MCC to eliminate the community outreach
requirement for local cultural councils. Ashfield is a small town; challenging to secure
council members and host these types of events.
Discuss and vote on Priorities and Guidelines
MCC requires discussion and vote on priorities and guidelines these each year, including the
date and information about the community outreach event. Part of this includes reviewing
feedback gained from the community event. We discussed the idea of having a central town
calendar of all events. This is beyond the RCC purview but something we can share.

Motion raised and seconded to approve P&G. Unanimously approved
Transition of Chair/Treasurer responsibilities
Steve will handle any reimbursements that come in between now and September, sharing
with Liz to review. We have some members expressing interest who were not confirmed
prior to this meeting. September will have to be reserved for a reorganization of the board
with new members.
Brian turned the town common signs over to Steve for use. These display the dates of the
grant cycle to be displayed on the common and are displayed during the first two weeks of
October.
Brian will access the MCC site to update our membership information. Brian will update his
own transition on this site, as well as Christine's. A report is due by the end of August with
the RCC current member list.
The RCC gmail account recovery information needs to be updated to reflect current
membership, particularly the phone number. Steve will add his phone number to the
account recovery information.
Brian checks box at town manager's office weekly.
Brian shared a list of his responsibilities with returning board members prior to this
meeting.
We have 3 candidates for RCC undergoing interviews. We should hear about them within
the next two weeks.
Miscellaneous
There is still no resolution regarding where to store digital documents. The Town is reluctant
to use Google drive because there is no Town oversight. Brian had talked to Laura Gemme
about the Town giving us a secure digital space for document storage.
Steve attended the Reading Arts and Culture Working Group meeting (see emails for
specific name). Christine has traditionally attended these meetings as an RCC
representative. There is no official requirement for an RCC member to attend; we agreed
that it's good to send someone. The group is currently trying to get community feedback on
town arts/cultural climate via a survey.
There was a general discussion about posting arts/cultural events on a central calendar.
There are currently several calendars/ways of notification of all town events.
