Present: Virginia Blodgett, Chairman Ron Stortz, Vice Chair Caitlin Salmon, Secretary William Brown Brian Boyle Absent: Carl McFadden Sally Hilgedorff Also Present: Michael Hannaford, Supervisor Michael O'Halloran, Administration Review of Past Meetin¢ Minutes Meeting was called to order at 6:03 by Virginia Blodgett seconded by Caitlin Salmon. The minutes of December 4, 2023 were reviewed and approved as written by a vote of 5-0, on a motion by William Brown seconded Ron Stortz. Page 1 1 *-w Town of Reading Meeting Minutes Discuasiou -Gravestone Restoration Update & Funding • Beginning of January — noticed a bit of work had already been started on the gravestone restoration. • Said they would finish, but unsure if any more work has been done. • Fourteen more stones have been given to them, even though initial work hasn't been done. o Each Stone that have been worked on still need more work — Stones have been started by are being left incomplete o These 14 put us up to the $35,000 • Went out to bid and should be back within the next 1-2 weeks. • The markers are in for the Revolutionary War soldiers and will be up for Memorial Day o Kings colors flags will be used this year on Colonial graves o Betsy Ross flags being put on the new Revolutionary markers o Colonial markers will be paid for by Parker Tavern General Business Cemetery Pricing • Do we want to raise the cost of 2 grave lots — from $4,000 to possibly $5,000 (25%) • Saturday overtime charges may want to be looked at • All will be looked at a little more closely in the coming months Wood End Layout — almost finalized • Preliminary of new development backs up to Batchelder Rd • In very back— providing separation, will be space for 286 Um Garden lots • Plan gives 22 — 3 grave lots • Plan gives 265 — 2 grave lots Rules and Regulations — Bill Brown • Grave Rubbings — Who enforces that rubbings are not allowed?
