Christine agreed to be Secretary for the meeting. As three Cultural Council members were present, we had a quorum. Aooroval of Minutes - March Meetina: There was discussion around the role of Chair, and not President, which should be corrected on page 2. The Annual Report comments on p. 2 were also clarified by Brian and Christine. Brian moved to approve minutes as amended, Christine seconded, vote 3-0. Treasurer reDort: Brian sent the Town budget reports dated 3/31/24 to the group ahead of the meeting. $12,200 in funds from Massachusetts have not been received yet. $7,457.84 available from FY2023 S9 470 30 available from FV2024 $16,928.14 Available budget as of 3/31/24 Steve moved to approve the Treasurer Report, Christine seconded, vote 3-0. Uodate on transition plan/new members and Review of oosition roles and resoonsibilities: Brian has documented the roles and responsibilities of the Cultural Council, as his siz-year [erm ends in June. Steve and Sherilla's terms also end in June. Brian reported that one person has applied to join the RCC, and we need more appiicants. Brian also has posted documents relevant to the council, including open meetings, conflict of interest statements, etc. Mav 13 Communitv Outreach Event: The Pleasant Street Center Great Room has been reserved from 6:00 - 8:30PM for the Community Outreach Event. Steve is developing a slideshow using photos from grentees rzee I i and will later post it on the RCC socials. Grantees from the past five years will be invited to , attend. The Community Outreach Event is being advertised in the Town Manager Minute and . in the town calendar. Brian will invite the Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, Select . Board, former RCC members, potential RCC members Senator]ason Lewis, and other . dignitaries and elected officials to attend, as well as Carolyn Cole, MCC. We want this event to be a celebration and will serve small bottles of water and cookies. Readina Arts and Culture Action Plan Christine attended the March 25 meeting to represent the Cultural Council. The group reviewed a draft vision statement for the organization. The working group was wrepping up in March ahead of issuing a town-wide survey in April. The group has concluded that there needs to be a central location to list events and photos of what's happening in town. It was clear that the role of the Reading Cultural Council is not clear, and there is opportunity for improvement. Motion to adjourn by Brian at 7:S1PM, seconded by Steve, vote 3-0.
