Meeting called to order at 6:37 pm.
Call to Order, Attendance, Approve Minutes: Nancy Ziemlak
Marilyn made a motion to accept the minutes as amended. Rosemarie seconded it.
Motion passed unanimously.
Elder & Human Services (EHS) Report and Trust Fund and ARPA Update and Status of
Noxious Odor: Chris Kowaleski
Really good February. Great turnout at all events. Numbers are up for February. Chris gave an
update on March programming. Trips are starting up in April. Noxious odor is continuously being
evaluated as it is still present. There was discussion on the ARPA report.
(7:00-7:30) Select Board Update: Karen Herrick
No liaison present.
Reading Active Living Center Committee Liaison Update: John Parsons
No recent past meetings. Meeting this Wednesday 3/13.
Town Budget Capital Plan Update: Nancy Ziemlak
Nancy Ziemlack shared that she and Marilyn Shapleigh met with Jenna and Town Manager to
ask why support of the Pleasant Street Center is not in the Capital plan.
BOH Health Survey: Marilyn Shapleigh
Results were evaluated and leads in various departments are being interviewed. The goal is to
turn the results into a report and an action plan.

SWEC Update: Karen Janowski
Update provided to Nancy Ziemlack in advance of this meeting. Nancy Ziemlack shared with the
group. Meeting next week to finalize recommendations to Select Board regarding utilization of
property.

Newspaper Outreach: Marilyn Shapleigh
Marilyn Shapleigh read the draft letter to the editor out loud. Motion was made, seconded and
discussion took place. Edits were suggested. The vote was taken to publish and passed
unanimously.
Event Planning: Open House @ PSC Karen Fotino
April 11th will be the first evening event from 6-8 pm. April 27th 9-11 am would be the second
event, and May 15th, June 12th are possible follow up event dates from 6-8 pm. There was
discussion.
Funding Request: Marilyn made a motion to authorize up to $1500 for pleasant street center
open house expenses from Burbank trust fund. Rosemarie seconded. Vote passed
unanimously.
RCN: High School Collaboration/Rolling Screen: Jean Prato
Jean Prato was invited to a student internship fair at Reading Memorial High School. She had
ten students who showed interest in interning for the COA.
Non -PSC User Outreach: Proposed survey: Marilyn Shapleigh
More to discuss in a future meeting.
Reading Neighbor Network: Nora Bucko
Members are interested and attending forums.
Reading Active Living Center Work Group Update: Nancy Ziemlak
Nancy Ziemlack shared that cost reports for each site will be presented to the COA and ReCalc
the week of 3/25 for feedback. Nancy suggested posting weekly meetings to stay on top of
feasibility study process. There will be another RECAL work group meeting on March 14th.
Motion to adjourn was made by John Parsons. Nancy Ziemlack seconded.
