Topics of Discussion:
A.Binda acting as Recreation Committee Chair in E. Gaffen's absence calls meeting to order at
6:30pm.
J. Sullivan reads off first agenda item, Amplified Sound request for June 2m, 2024 at Hunt Park
submitted by K. O'Shaughnessy, Reading Community Service Officer. K. O'Shaughnessy
notifies committee that the national honor guard will be attending the challenger baseball game
and would like to request the use of amplified sound to play the national anthem.
B.Weiden asks if the snack shack would be needed, K. O'Shaughnessy stated no but would
follow up if necessary.
C. Robinson makes motion to approve amplified sound request for Hunt Park on June 2nd as
presented.
C. Kaminer seconds the motion.
Vote passes 5-0, all in favor, K. Kammer, B. Weider, M. Pucci, A. Binda, C. Robinson
J. Sullivan introduces next agenda item, discussion and vote on pollinator garden at Castine
Field.

C. Tirone, Conservation Administrator mentions the plan as previously presented at the
February Recreation Committee Meeting and mentions that signs, no mow/pollinator garden
signs would be purchased by conservation and would be placed approximately 40ft apart. He
mentioned that the approval of this was time sensitive as the pollinator balls need to be planted
prior to the spring season thaw. J. Sullivan stated that he spoke with DPW and they were made
aware of the project and had met on site this past winter.
Motion made by C. Robinson to approve pollinator garden at Castine Field as presented
M. Pucci seconded the motion
Vote passes 5-0, all in favor, C. Robinson, K. Kammer, B. Weiden, A. Bind@, M. Pucci
J. Sullivan reported no further items on the agenda.
B. Weiden makes a motion to move to adjourn at 6:41
C. Robinson seconds the motion to adjourn at 6:41.
