Fall Street Fair
• Ray reported on engagements with residents during the Fall Street Fair
o Positive reinforcement for RCAC's activity from those who stopped by the
booth
o Multiple people stated that they were glad committee exists and is very
supporting of our work
o The spot we were located at was good and and we would like to have it again
• Travis briefed on his positive engagement
o Travis Is encouraging the committee to give out more 'digital' Information
o Bike rack was full during the Fall Fair, demonstrating that people are willing
and interested in biking downtown
Carbon Emission Reduction
• Ray discussed the town CO2 emissions, where 26% percent stems from residential,
56% from transportation
o Data stemmed from computing car registration and cars passing through to
estimate the transportation
o MAPC has a methodology used for estimates that RCAC will likely follow In the
future

o This methodology will allow us to be comparable to other towns, and be
forward looking vs backwards looking
• To reduce the cot emissions, we should be encouraging walkable downtown
o Susan mentioned there used to be a walk to school day as something that we
can emulate and promote walkable Reading
• Ray mentioned that MCDonalds is applying for 2 lanes of drive through, which would
increase traffic/pollution
• Killam school would also like to be net zero
o Gena will lead the charge
• Susan discussed environmental sustainability which Corrin also echoed
Black Earth Composting
• Susan stated that Black Earth Compost can support the entire town
• Susan provided an update on black earth, looking forward to getting a price break at
500 people
Task Delegation - A More Decentralized Approach
• Ray would like to split up, delegate tasks, and give updates on each item
• Ray will send out a list of topic the committee can share Internally and delegate
appropriate
Upcoming Public Engagement
• Oct. 3rd - New Resident Open House - Gena, possibly Corrin
• Oct. 5th - RMLD Open House - Travis
