Case #22-18 - 337 Ash Street
Ms. Cynde Hartman opened the public hearing for Case #22-18 - 337 Ash Street by reading the legal
notice into record and swearing in members of the public wishing to speak.
Ms. Tammy Tine gave a brief description of the home. It was built in the 1950s by her husband's family.
The home is currently a single-family home with an accessory apartment, with two addresses and has
been like that since 1972. In 2014, they went before the Board to make it a legal accessory apartment
and would like to have it legalized as a two-family home. Both units have two means of egress, separate
driveways. She also brought some abutters signatures supporting their request. Mr. Patrick Houghton
read the letter signed by the abutters into record.
Mr. Cy Caouette stated that he was Chairman at the time of their 2014 case. The Board had recognized
that it was already an existing accessory apartment. He also noted he does not have a problem with the
request but would like to see the answers to the Variance Criteria questions with more detail.
Mr. Andrew Grasberger also agreed with Mr. Cy Caouette.

addresses. Ms. Tammy Tine stated no, their home was built in 1950 and the accessory apartment was
built in 1972. Mr. Patrick Houghton asked if the original request was to be a two family or accessory
apartment. Ms. Tammy Tine stated that she and her husband got the approval for an accessory
apartment in 2014.

Abutter Ms. Sandra McLaughlin from 323 Ash Street stated she believed with the way the home was set
up it could be a two family.

going to sell the home.
Abutter Mr. Jason Clarke stated his concern if they sold the property if this could turn into an
investment property or turn into a retail property.
