Mr. Patrick Houghton seconded the motion and it was approved 5-0-0. Vote was 4-0-0 (Houghton, Hartman, Grasberger, Coouette) Case #22-18 - 337 Ash Street Ms. Cynde Hartman opened the public hearing for Case #22-18 - 337 Ash Street by reading the legal notice into record and swearing in members of the public wishing to speak. Ms. Tammy Tine gave a brief description of the home. It was built in the 1950s by her husband's family. The home is currently a single-family home with an accessory apartment, with two addresses and has been like that since 1972. In 2014, they went before the Board to make it a legal accessory apartment and would like to have it legalized as a two-family home. Both units have two means of egress, separate driveways. She also brought some abutters signatures supporting their request. Mr. Patrick Houghton read the letter signed by the abutters into record. Mr. Cy Caouette stated that he was Chairman at the time of their 2014 case. The Board had recognized that it was already an existing accessory apartment. He also noted he does not have a problem with the request but would like to see the answers to the Variance Criteria questions with more detail. Mr. Andrew Grasberger also agreed with Mr. Cy Caouette. Page 1 1 Mr. Patrick Houghton asked if the home was separately metered and if the home was always two addresses. Ms. Tammy Tine stated no, their home was built in 1950 and the accessory apartment was built in 1972. Mr. Patrick Houghton asked if the original request was to be a two family or accessory apartment. Ms. Tammy Tine stated that she and her husband got the approval for an accessory apartment in 2014. Ms. Cynde Hartman opened the meeting to public comment. Abutter Ms. Sandra McLaughlin from 323 Ash Street stated she believed with the way the home was set up it could be a two family. Mr. Mike Tine stated that he wanted to make the home a legal two-family home and they are no longer going to sell the home. Abutter Mr. Jason Clarke stated his concern if they sold the property if this could turn into an investment property or turn into a retail property. Mr. Cy Caouette stated that he would like the applicant to take a harder look at the four Variance Criteria. Mr. Mike Tine and the Board Members had a brief discussion about answering the Variance Criteria questions in more depth and some possible misinformation that happened. Mr. Mike Tine stated that he would rewrite the Variance Criteria. Mr. Andrew Grasberger made a motion to accept the applicants request to continue Case #22.18 - 337 Ash street to February 28, 2023. Mr. Cy Caouette seconded the motion and it was approved 54)-0. Vote was 4-0-0 (Houghton, Hartman, Grasberger, Caouette) Other business Karen Herrick, Vice Chair of the Select Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals Liaison introduced herself to the Board and had a brief conversation with the Board about recruiting members. ZBA Minutes 2/17/22 Mr. Cy Caouette made a motion to accept the minutes, as amended. Mr. Andrew Grasberger seconded the motion and it was approved 40-0.
