Topics of Discussion:
This meeting was held in-person In the Conference Room of Town Hall, and remotely via
Zoom.
Vice Chair Chuck Robinson called the meeting to order at 6:34 pm, as Chair Carlo Baccl was
expected to be late.
Continue discussion on Evaluation Criteria:
The Committee reviewed the criteria discussed at their previous meeting. Following a
lengthy discussion, the Committee agreed that the top-ranking scoring criteria were:
1. Provides a Wide Range of Public Use
2. Inter -generational Use
3. Meets a Demonstrated Need
4. (Tied) Highly Ranked per Survey/Maintaining Ownership of Property
5. (Tied) Minimal Taxpayer Expense/Fiscally Responsible
These criteria will be used to help form the scope of the Request for Information (RFI).
Angela Binda noted that the Recreation Committee had comments about the RFI. She
suggested inviting Recreation Administrator Jim Sullivan, and Community Services Director
Jenna Fiorente to a SWEC meeting to discuss town recreation needs. In the Recreation
meeting, Jim Sullivan noted that there is a significant demand for lit field space. Committee
members agreed that Input from Recreation is needed in determining what to ask for in the
RFI.
The discussion will continue at the next meeting, with Input from Recreation, and the vote
to direct the Town Manager to prepare the RFI will be tabled.

Review and approve prior meeting minutes:
On a motion by Chuck Robinson, seconded by Nancy Twomey, the Symonds Way
Exploratory Committee voted 7-0-0 to accept the meeting minutes of May 30,
2023.
Discuss next agenda items and meeting dates:
The next meeting is scheduled for July 24'". Topics will include: revisiting the RFI discussion
and possible vote, and a discussion with Community Services Director Jenna Fiorente and
Recreation Administrator Jim Sullivan regarding recreational needs in town.
On a motion by Nancy Twomey, seconded by Heather Clish, the Symonds Way
Exploratory Committee voted 7-0-0 to adjourn at 8:24 pm.
