RMLD Updates - Greg Phipps
• Future predictions of electricial demand
• Maple Meadows - 79 acres to be acquired in Sept/Oct for solar and battery storage
o $80/MW-hr projected cost for generation and clean energy certificates
o Makes economic sense for customers and energy reliability basis
• Solar panels on the roof of the Burbank facility was discussed.
o Option for reducing heat load or heat pump alternatives
o RMLD responsible for lights, energy and heating/cooling requirements
o Issue of RMLD solar panel ownership may provide economic benefits
• Also considering addressing energy assets at schools (Killam, RMHS)
• Low temperature geothermal options under consideration for other properties
o Heating/cooling as a product
• Gratefully use of Reading energy survey
• Results of RMLD customer service survey
• Weatherization program rolling out this summer
• Next Weds (6/21) webinar on solar

Reading Friends and Family Day
• Kids game was a good attraction
• Binder full of stickers was also an attraction for kids or rewards
o RCAC heart stickers
o Environmental theme
• Sharing space with Environmental Group went well, students were engaged
• Gena has the posters we used at the table
Energy Survey Results - Table until Travis can join the discussion
Roles of RCAC Positions - Table until Travis can join the discussion
RCAC Summer Social
• Ray to send poll for a date for the event
• Probably to be held sometime in August
New Resident Open House
• Table reserved for this event
Required Training for Open Meeting Law
• Laura Gemme provided information about taken the training.
• Other training on Conflict of Interest
Goals of this Committee for 2023
• Current commitments
o Polystyrene ban
o Heating / cooling survey for 2023
• Green Community Application
o Previously lead through Town Planning
o Need to pass article at Town Meeting (fee contribution)
o RMLD to Implement charging system
• Solar Installations on Town Building Roofs
• Heat Pumps Adoption
• Energy Stretch Code Adoption
• Transportation topics
• Create a survey of Town engagement and priorities (Travis and Genady)
