Topics of Discussion:
The meeting was held in person. Chair wise called the meeting to order at approximately 8:06 a.m. Mr. Wise
walked through the agenda.
B. Public Comment
There was none.
B Consent Aaenda
Mr. Wise moved to approve the consent agenda Items B.1. through B.3. Ms. McLaughlin seconded. The
motion carded 2-0.
E.1. New Business - Discuss and Vote on Student Services Least Counsel Recommendation
The Subcommittee and the administrative team discussed the interviews, background checks, and other
information they were able to gather regarding the three finalist legal counsel firms. Mr. Wise reminded the
group that one firm had to drop out of the finalist process due to staffing issues. The group weighed the pros
and cons of each firm, reviewed the materials provided, and coalesced to a recommendation.
Mr. Wise moved to recommend Stoneman, Chandler, and Miller, LLP to the School Committee as
Student Services legal counsel. The motion was seconded by Ms. McLaughlin. The motion was carried
2-0.
B.4. Consent Agenda - Draft and Vote on Minutes (06-15-2023)
The Subcommittee reviewed and updated these draft minutes since this is the last meeting of the
Subcommittee.
Mr. Wise moved to approve minutes from 06-16-2023. Ms. McLaughlin seconded the motion. The
motion carried 2-0.
