Mr. D'Orazio elevated Virginia Adams to a voting member. Mr. D'Orazio read the public hearing notice and guidelines Into the record, and introduced the commission members. 212 West Street - Public Hearina Ms. Walsh, the owner of 212 West Street, gave a brief overview on the proposal: • The dwelling is a two -unit residential condominium building; • The entire dwelling will be resided; • Replacing the existing cement board siding with Hardie Board siding; and • The existing trim and historic wood pieces will remain Mr. D'Orazio said at the last meeting, the commission held a lengthy discussion about allowing artificial material in the district, and it was agreed that the existing cement siding is already artificial. He added that the commission approved the Certificate to be issued. Mr. Blodgett said he is surprised the existing material is cement, he thought wood - and was concerned about asbestos. Mr. D'Orazio read the history of the property and architectural design of the building. Mr. D'Orazio opened the meeting to public comment and closed with no one present. Ms. Devin -Freedman said if in the future the historic wood pieces need to be replaced that the pieces should remain wood. Ms. Walsh agreed and said she has no intention of changing the material on the wood pieces. Mr. D'Orazio made a motion to close the Public Hearing to replace the siding at 212 West Street. The motion was seconded by Mr. Blodgett and approved with a 4-0-0 vote. Mr. D'Orazio said he will inform town hall that the building permit can be issued Town of Reading o o Meeting Minutes 186 Summer Avenue Mr. D'Orazio briefly updated the Commission on the property at 186 Summer Avenue and said the owner is in discussions with a potential buyer. New Business Mr. D'Orazio said the commission received an application to install a fence at the property at 206 West Street and will be on the next agenda. Ms. Adams requested that if the fence is proposed in the front of the property that the fence be placed close to the dwelling and not the roadway. Review of Minutes: September 21, 2022. January 18.2023. February 15. 2023 and March 23, 2023 September 21, 2022 and March 23, 2023 minutes were tabled to the next meeting Mr. Blodgett made a motion to approve the minutes of February 15, 2023 as presented. The motion was seconded by Ms. Adams and approved with a 4-0-0 vote. Ms. Adams made a motion to approve the minutes of January 18, 2023 as presented. The motion was seconded by Mr. D'Orazio and approved with a 4-0-0 vote. Mr. D'Orazio made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 PM. The motion was seconded by Ms. Adams and approved with a 4-0-0 vote.
