A. Call to Order Mrs. Gallen called the meeting to order at 10:30a.m. B. Discuss Policy HCH - Alcohol. Tobacco/Nicotine and Drug Use by Students Prohibited with Legal Counsel. Colleen Shea The committee discussed and agreed upon the edits of JICH, no further discussion. C. Discuss Procedures JICH-R - Chemical Health Regulations for High School Students with Legal Counsel. Colleen Shea The subcommittee discussed procedures JICH-R- Chemical Health Regulations for High School Students and asked clarifying questions of counsel Colleen Shea. Automatic penalties for students are no longer legal, the subcommittee adapted language of the procedures to consider the circumstances and used language such as "may" versus "will". The subcommittee also discussed language around MIAA regulations - it was decided to provide the link to MIAA regulations and not copy and paste from MIAA. Ms. Colleen Shea left the meeting. The subcommittee continued the discussion of JICH-R and completed the discussion by going through the note from Legal Counsel Colleen Shea. D. Vote for Policy HCH and Procedures JICH-R. Move Flits Forward to School Committee Mrs. Gaffen moved, seconded by Mrs. Nazzaro to approve edits and seek feedback on revised policy draft from Erica McNamara. Page I 1 Next Steps: Erin will follow-up with Erica McNamara with a few questions and seek her feedback on revised policy draft. The subcommittee also had one more minor question for Colleen Shea. The subcommittee will review a final time before voting to move forward to full School Committee. E. Approve Minutes (9-21-20211 Mrs. Naz aro moved, seconded by Mrs. Geffen to approve the minutes from 9-21-21. The motion carried 3-0. Mrs. Gaffen, Mrs. Na aro and Mr. Robinson.
