Review minutes, vote on acceptance
Reviewed and approved minutes to 12/8 and 12/22, 2021 meetings
Introduction to Fidel Maltez, Incoming Town Manager
• Fidel introduced himself to the RCAC
• Excited to work with the RCAC on climate related issues
• Defined role of the RCAC as a formal advisory town committee
Review of RMLD Energy Rates, Greg Phipps
• Climate bill and its impact on RMLD, building, EVs and non -carbon sources
• Renewable Choice- customers to opt in to renewable carbon options with
additional funds with offset cost to retire RECs
0 2030 goal of 50% non -carbon goal
o Thresholds of 50%. 75% and 100% of renewable energy
o Offered to residential and commercial customers
o Effective Feb 1�, 2022
o Webinars will discuss the program as part of other topics

• Electric Vehicle (EV) rate
o Optional A3 Time of Use (ToU) charge — 3 tiers
o Goal to FlII periods of low load (night time)
o Effective March 2022
o Encourage EV use
• EV Chargers
o Full rebate for residential chargers
o Mass EVIP grant for 5 retail locations (3 stations in Reading)
• Reading Library
• Train Station
• Downtown near Christopher's
o Charging rate of $0.22/KW
• Incentive Programs for energy conversions
Non -carbon generation assets
o Need to balance generation and demand of the daily and monthly variations
o Power demand is expected to double by 2050.
Support for Sustainability Director
• David to confirm budget for Sustainability Director
David to attend Finance Committee Meeting to establish budget line Item
Community Garden Update
• Presentation on Zoom to Neighbors about the plan for a community garden
Presentation to the Select Board on Tuesday
Presentation to the Conservation Committee on Jan 26
• Questions about shared use of site
• DPW to do site prep work and utilities (water access)
• 17 plots on the first full terrace
• Pollinator garden on the first half terrace
