Review minutes, vote on acceptance
Meeting minutes for 3/23/2022 and 4/13/2022 approved as amended
RMLD Update - Greg Phipps (slide presentation)
• Solar PV - municipal/schools review to start September 2022
• Accelerating EV adoption - by 2035 new vehicles need to be EV
o Target charging hours are in early morning hour (midnight to 6am)
• Wholesale energy cost forecast - 90% of energy purchases are contracted
o RMLD rates are below open market rates
• RMLD Decarbonization
o Rate classes: residential, industrial, commercial
o Residential rate are seasonal
• Key Financial Drivers
• 2021 Climate Law
• Characterization of non -carbon generation
o Filling in the natural gas gap with renewable generation
• RMLD decarbonization transition

• Battery storage - reduce peak load demand
• MCAN Energy Mix report reflect past period, RMLD already looking forward
• Smart Grid District - giving the customer control (still developing)
• Residential charging rates and EV charging
ARPA funding available through Reading - Town assessing best use for funds
Bicycling Recycling Event
• Friday, April 29 (11:00am to 1:00pm)- bike drop off
• Saturday, April 30 - bike drop off, bike processing and bike reclamation
• Need help Saturday morning for bike processing.
Town Forest Appreciation Day (12 - 3)
• Table to have umbrella, and board to hold posters
• Ray to print posters
• Bins of soil are available from the Town (compost), Travis (top soil) and Genady
(sand)
• Paper cups will be provided along with seeds for kids to take home
• Dave to bring RCAC banner
Polystyrene Containers Draft Bylaw (Dave leek)
• Review draft text for polystyrene ban
• Definition of polystyrene - foam polystyrene and rigid polystyrene
• Food establishments - Wakefield vs House bill 2017 - H3252 vs Arlington
o Use Arlington as a base with the exemptions in the Wakefield text
• Reusable Food Service Ware - Wakefield vs House bill 2017 - H3252 vs Arlington
vs Chelmsford
• Single use items reduction by making them only when requested
• Disposable food service containers - Wakefield vs Arlington texts
