Energy Survey • Walt compiled 200 forms • Most people heat with oil or gas (170 out of 200) • 1200 clean forms can be completed next week (Genady) • Others are willing to count the remainder • Most heat pumps are used as secondary sources • Whole home systems are trending upward, per comment during the discussion comments Friends and Family Day (]une 11) • Travis will pick up the posters at the end of the week • Travis and Ray will coordinate on transfer of pumps and posters • Ray to prepare the kid activity with lollypops as the prize • David has other handouts and the RCAC sign • Gather testimonials from those that have installed heat pumps for future webinar Page 1 1 Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes Polystyrene Containers Draft Bylaw (Dave leek) • Bylaws for polystyrene and single use items presented as separate items • Recommend moving forward with just the polystyrene containers • More information is needed with respect to enforcement with the single use items • Communication campaign - Find partners within other committees • Share with Town Manager and Select Board Sustainability Director / Senior Planner • Fidel promoting Andrew MacNichol to Sustainability Director • Develop grant opportunities Maillet Conservation Stormwater Management • Existing conditions - Blocked culvert, local flooding • Open space improvements - Drainage treatment and storage • Invasive species removal and management • Funding - $100K for design documents, request for early construction funding • Flood plain for 2070 10 year storm • Box culvert blockage under MBTA rail line • Increased on-site storage • Vector potential - stored water drains in between weather events • Funding though State earmarks, MVP funding and Reading matching funds • Expecting a 2 year construction plan • O&M plan to describe future maintenance Coolidge Middle School Social Studies - Climate Actions (Rebecca Mandell) • Dave, Walt and Ray provided comments to the student proposals New Members Needed • Jeff to end member role effective June 1 • Opening for new member, Travis to consider position Summer Social Gathering • Ray to send out a survey of possible dates • Walt to offer his deck as a location in August Calendar of Coming Events • June 11 - Friends & Family Day • June 15 - Ribbon Cutting for Community Garden (3:00 pm) Next meeting 6/22/2022 at 7:00 pm Page 1 2 m�
