Plans for a 9/22 public mtg on Energy Reduction. • • Julie and Megan described their ideas for a public meeting on Reading's Energy Reduction Plan to be held Sep. 22 in conjunction with our RCAC mtg on the same date. • • The meeting will be remote using Zoom Webinar. We will include online polls to collect feedback but not use breakout rooms since we are mostly presenting a proposal and not soliciting raw inputs. • • The goal for our Green Community application requires a 20% reduction in 5 years as measured by utility and fuel Inputs for the town buildings, vehicles, streetlights, etc. including for the schools. • Noresco will talk about performance contracting. • Provide case studies on what other communities have successfully done. Focus on our peer communities that are Green Communities. Page I 1 Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes Discussed plans for the Community Garden. The Design Review Team will meet on August 18. Susan Bowe expressed interest in the garden. Discussed using helium balloons at the Reading Fall Street Faire. • Tim Kelley of the Rotary Club agreed to ask vendors to not use the balloons. Discussed sustainability metrics. • I reported per Vincent Santaniello that the description of the automobile model for the excise tax is insufficient to identify plug-in hybrid vehicles. • Celeste suggested a public records request from RMV.
